VIDEOCLIP Etnología Coreográfica es una investigación/obra que estudia la influencia de los videoclips y la cultura MTV en la manera de bailar y de moverse de personas uruguayas nacidas entre 1968 y 1986.
Para esto se realizaron 45 entrevistas buscando ver qué videoclip y qué paso recordaban los entrevistados. En el caso del paso recordado, se les pidió también si podían reproducirlo. De esta pregunta derivó la noción de Cuerpo Archivo, es decir, del cuerpo como contenedor de las representaciones que lo moldearon.
La investigación pretende encontrar qué de específico tiene la identidad corporal uruguaya de la generación pos-dictadura, que aprendió a cantar en inglés de oído y a bailar con modelos importados bastante alejados de su realidad económica, social y política. Potencialmente se podría hacer un listado de videoclips y pasos referentes de cada contexto geográfico y así tener una cartografía que comprendiera a todas las identidades.
VIDEOCLIP EC es el primer paso para dejar asentado un modelo de estudio y producción coreográfica esperando que sea retomado por otros artistas que quieran apropiarse del mismo y versionarlo en sus propios contextos.

Exhibition of the VIDEOCLIP Choreographic Ethnology Project held in the Contemporary Art Space (EAC), within the framework of the International Dance Festival of Uruguay in the 2015 edition.
VIDEOCLIP Ethnology Choreography is an investigation / work that studies the influence of video clips and MTV culture on the way of dancing and moving of Uruguayan people born between 1968 and 1986.
For this, 45 interviews were conducted seeking to see what video clip and what step the interviewees remembered. In the case of the remembered step, they were also asked if they could reproduce it. From this question the notion of the Archive Body derived, that is, from the body as a container for the representations that shaped it.
The research aims to find out what is specific about the Uruguayan body identity of the post-dictatorship generation, which learned to sing in English by ear and to dance with imported models far removed from their economic, social and political reality. Potentially, a list of video clips and reference steps could be made for each geographic context and thus have a cartography that includes all identities.
VIDEOCLIP EC is the first step to establish a choreographic study and production model, waiting for it to be taken up by other artists who want to appropriate it and version it in their own contexts.
