Fantasmata y Leviathan son dos piezas cortas de danza experimental. Las dos forman parte de un proyecto de investigación artística de 3 años apoyado por el FONCA, Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes de México, llamado Proyecto Correspondencias, que investiga formas y recursos de composición coreográfica tradicionales y sus resonancias y derivaciones en la contemporaneidad.

Este año nos hemos enfocado en recursos asociados a la expresión de emociones y sensaciones. La propuesta es un programa doble en el que primero se muestra una pieza que aborda los recursos de manera tradicional y luego se presenta otra que los retoma desde una mirada actual. Las piezas son la materialización y encarnación de una investigación teórico práctica que se está llevando a cabo y que, siguiendo a Esperanza Collado, entiende la figura de la artista como la de una meta historiadora.

Fantasmata

Solo que investiga la noción de “fantasma” propuesta por Domenico de Piacenza (1390-1470) en su tratado de coreografía “De arte saltandi et choreas ducendi”, inspirado en “La danza de la Bruja” de Mary Wigman, “Lamentation” de Martha Graham y elementos de la danza Butoh.

Leviathan

Práctica de reflexión corporal para dos intérpretes en la que se intenta presentar un cuerpo que escape a la representación de un cuerpo, en vivo y con luz natural. La pieza está inspirada en la película Leviathan (2012) del Sensory Ethnography Lab y en el Cine Estructural que busca afectar al cuerpo del espectadxr a través de la materialidad del medio.

Fantasmata and Leviathan are two short pieces of experimental dance. The two are part of a 3-year artistic research project supported by FONCA, the National Fund for Culture and the Arts of Mexico, called Project Correspondences, which investigates forms and resources of traditional choreographic composition and their resonances and derivations in contemporary times.

This year we have focused on resources associated with the expression of emotions and sensations. The proposal is a double program in which first a piece is shown that addresses resources in a traditional way and then another is presented that takes them up from a current perspective. The pieces are the materialization and incarnation of a practical theoretical investigation that is being carried out and that, following Esperanza Collado, understands the figure of the artist as that of a meta-historian.

Body reflection practice for two interpreters in which an attempt is made to present a body that escapes the representation of a body, live and in natural light. The piece is inspired by the film Leviathan (2012) from the Sensory Ethnography Lab and by Structural Cinema that seeks to affect the body of the spectator through the materiality of the medium.
